Director of the Preschool (LPK) and Children’s Programs

Sandy Futch is the Director of the Preschool (LPK) and Children’s Programs.  She has worked as the Director of LPK since the Fall of 2007 and as the Children’s Programs Director since January 2008.  She and her husband have been members of Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church since November of 1988.

She has taught Sunday School at all levels and served as the Cherub Choir Director for 3 years.

She has a BA from Agnes Scott College and a Masters of Education from the University of Georgia.  Sandy has taught in Elementary and Preschools for over 20 years.  She has also served as a trainer for educators at various conferences and an Instructor in Education at Agnes Scott College.

Sandy and her husband have three children ranging from college through elementary school and live in Lawrenceville.

Office Manager

Annette Houtz is the Office Manager at Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church.   She began her employment at Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church in the fall of 2002 as the Administrative Assistant and assumed the position of Office Manager in 2009.

She has been employed by a Presbyterian Church (USA) for the past 15 years, working for the first 7 ½ years at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Lilburn as their Office Manager.

Annette and her husband have lived in the Lawrenceville community for over 20 years and very active in their church and local missions.  They have a daughter and son-in-law who live in Maryland whom they enjoy visiting often.

Choir Director

Lynette Branch received her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Georgia, where she studied flute, was in the Red Coat Marching Band, UGA Symphonic Band and UGA orchestra.  She also has a Master’s degree from Georgia State University in Early Childhood education.  She has been a member of LPC for 23 years and the Director of Music for the past 20 years.  During this time she has directed the Chancel Choir, Children’s Choir, Handbell Choir, Youth Choir, and summer Music Camp.  She maintains memberships with Chorister’s Guild, Presbyterian Association of Musicians, and Georgia Association of Educators.  Lynette is also an Academic Coach with the Barrow County school system, has been Teacher of the Year, and has attained the rank of National Board certified teacher.   Lynette is married to David Branch and has two daughters; Emily, a first grade teacher, and Jennifer, a Junior at NGCSU who both grew up attending LPC.

Organist/Accompanist

Joyce Parks is a native of Walton County, Georgia. She is a graduate of Oconee County High School, Young Harris College and the University of Georgia. She holds degrees in English, Early Childhood Education Masters and a performance Diploma from the distinguished London College of Music.  She is involved in various capacities with the Gwinnett Choral Guild.  She and music partner, Bob Ferrell, formed BJ Musical Productions in September 2003.  She is a retired public school teacher and was the Founding Director of the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church Kindergarten.

Joyce has been a church organist/pianist for over 30 years in the Gwinnett/Metro area.  She is a member of the Presbyterian Association of Musicians, the American Choral Directors Association, Choristers Guild and the American Guild of Organists.  For the past 32 years Joyce has served as Organist/Accompanist for LPC, where she plays for all choirs, accompanies soloists and ensembles and has been a co-director of the LPC Music Camp for a number of years.

Youth Director

Julie McIver became the Outback Youth Director in August 2005, although she has been a member of LPC since 1989.  She says, “I just felt God’s hand in bringing me to this great group of youth!”  Before joining the LPC staff, some of the many jobs Julie has had are wallpaper installer, certified wedding planner and a nature walk specialist.  She is obsessed with the TV show “Survivor” to which she has applied 3 times, Seinfeld expert and favorite movie is “Groundhog Day”.  Her many hobbies include laying on the beach, avoiding housework and curling.

Julie has been married to her high school sweetheart Gregg since 1977.  Their family includes 4 children who all were baptized at LPC - Katie & her husband Chris who have two beautiful babies Bella & Farrah, Ryan, Keegan and Chelsie, who is now working with Youth at Athens Presbyterian & loving it!
